Painted Signs
Wood, cardboard, wheel-thrown ceramics, gesso, acrylic paint, fasteners.
2019
Variable sizes
Scraps of roughly split lumber constrain, support, or rest within wheel-thrown ceramic pots. Carboard shapes are attached with metal fasteners, wire and glue. The structures were first covered slap-dash with gesso to unify the materials in an ad hoc fashion before being painted with a variety of coloured shapes.
Created for Ionic Bonds at the Kamloops Art Gallery, curated by Charo Neville.
